The Latest in the Furniture Line

The chairs are from the old dining room set, but the table is built from our house. The only things that didn't originate from the house in the table are the walnut pins at each end that you can't really see very well in this picture and the plywood corner supports to keep it from being wobbly. The edges of the table and the legs are actually milled from the center of the 8"x8" support beam in the living room that I hollowed out to hold the double 1 3/4"x14" LVL. I was left with a 6"x6"x15' beam that gave itself to this project.:) The center slats were from the rough sawn 1"x6" that were sistered onto the rafters originally to provide space for insulation. Previous readers of the Home Improvment chronicles will recognize them from the stack of lumber left in front of the house on the last page (if you still have the PDF).

This project served as the excuse for the acquisition of the reconditioned Ridgid 13" planer

The Stained Glass Work Room

Here are the latest additions to the stained glass work room. We finally got the light table finished and we built the cabinet out of spare plywood either salvaged from the house or from other projects.

Don't look too closely at the legs on the table I tried to get cute and taper the bottom and screwed up on 2 of the 4 when I was gluing them up. What can I say the garage was a bit chilly and I was in a hurry.:)

There's something on the ground?

I think they call it a floor. Haven't seen one of those in the garage in over a year.
The wood rack on the wall is the latest addition in garage storage done over the past few weeks. Over that time I figured out that I buy wood like other people buy groceries when they are hungry. The box in the back is a rolling bin for smaller stuff that was supposed to be for stained glass, but it was too big so I claimed it.
